AOC & Ro Khanna are my 2 favorites heading into the 2028 cycle, but I am curious to see who else might throw their name into the ring. I definitely have no interest in any Democrat that wants to maintain the status quo. Centrist Democrats have done nothing but hinder progress. It's time to move away from them.

Gotaklew's avatar

AOC for 2028 Prez is great!

An all female ticket would send GOP to the cardiologist.

Love her to run with one of our Great Govs like Wes Moreland, or if Talrico looses TX (doubt it) that would be a phenomenal ticket. AOC & Talrico!

FOCUS ON 2026!!!!’

Gotaklew's avatar

Have been since 2024!

We need to win and this country won't vote that way. clean out the garbage and fix this mess first

Thinking like yours is how DJT got re-elected!!

Yarn Lady's avatar

And we would lose in a landslide… such a plan.

Never goin to happen

YEs SHE has said a thousand times….I am a progressive democrat. SHe doesnt need to say it either, progressive runs through her veins. One smart woman.

These are false claims. She is a great person who can help save democracy. Also, there is no justification for calling even the most disgusting MAGA woman a bitch, let alone AOC. This is a way of expressing hatred of women

Sandra Shebongsalot's avatar

They appear very confused.

Sharee Robar's avatar

Too salty anyways, maggots are so classless and about as much slug as you can get at a republican ballsac licking republican contest. Boys will be boys

Sharee Robar's avatar

White maggots are chewy

Me Always's avatar

Focus, people!!! Focus on 2026- NOT 2028. If we don’t flip House and Senate in November, there will be no election in 2028. FOCUS!!!!

PupIsUpBrownIsDown's avatar

Young and progressive only

Richie Rich's avatar

But moving to republicans ur not doing anything either just moving into the next chair as their all the same. What’s needed is a third party and I realize it’s frustrating as existing thirds seem to waste ur votes for lack of numbers sufficient to win. I’ve no idea how this paradoxical situation can resolve itself.

Regina Edelman's avatar

AOC. Is Democrat.

Any party will establish.

People need to get educated, we humans must change even more!

Me Always's avatar

We need to fucking focus on 2026!!!!

FOCUS!!

Regina Edelman's avatar

Focus! I hope people had focused last election, but is past, I hope the lesson is learned.

Focus! You all

Get educated in our civics at least, try to recognize a con when lying, try to understand our living organisms on spatial Earth and the power to exist and organize and reorganize.

Focus‼️📣🌎

Sharee Robar's avatar

Big deal what choice does one have on planet stupid?

Regina Edelman's avatar

Stupid? You’re talking about yourself.

AOC. She is one of those high IQ gifted individuals who by nature is genuinely concerned about others. She has an innate capacity to see the big picture of forest, trees notwithstanding, entire root system as well involved. She brings all these gifts forward because she really does want a better world for all.

Barb Kamen's avatar

She has my vote!!

Stephanie Gibbs Dunlap's avatar

AOC is OUTSTANDING 🥇💯✅🦉

Yarn Lady's avatar

And this country will not vote for a woman for President.

christine marie Mckinney's avatar

I really like Pete B. but I also think Senator Mark Kelly would be a strong contender. AOC. won’t win because too many people would see her as too “ radical”.

Independent Thought's avatar

There’s nothing “radical” about universal healthcare & taxing billionaires. We need to stop feeding into Republican framing of these conversations & push back

Timothi Jane Graham's avatar

We can’t afford to run a woman again. Sure coastal Democrats will vote for her but not in the south or midwest. This country has too much work to do on its own biases. Time to be realistic not idealistic.

This is the bad place's avatar

So ridiculous. I’m over men running this country. Only a couple have actually done a good job.

Timothi Jane Graham's avatar

I think most of us feel that way but that doesn’t mean she’s qualified or that she will win. She should run for Schumer’s seat in the Senate. She would be incredible in that role. She’s very young and has lots of time to be President. Whomever is next will have a big mess to clean up and must have foreign policy experience. Thats not her. For now.

Yarn Lady's avatar

Thank you…. I made those voter calls … I heard it over and over and over

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

The reason we haven't elected a woman is because we haven't nominated a legitimate one. She can win ..if we put her on the ballot.

Deb's avatar

Maybe. The consequences of getting it wrong are not insignificant. I’ve heard over n over that the US is not ready for a female president or a gay president. I don’t say these but others do. This might not be the best cycle to test the US.

RichieRich 🇺🇸's avatar

Those aren’t her only positions…

christine marie Mckinney's avatar

You need to sell Democrats on that.

Bobr's avatar

Go and explain his to 77 million of voters, ànd then we will talk.

C Leonard's avatar

I don’t agree. She’s FAR from “radical”, that’s what’s running the show now. The times are changing and we’re finally catching up. She’s honest, hard-working, and intelligent. She knows the ins and outs of government and provides legitimate solutions for problems we are facing due to the incompetent and illegal actions of this regime. AOC would be an excellent choice for President, and I’m not the only person who believes that.

Yarn Lady's avatar

But Dems won't vote for a woman any faster than they did for Kamala

Davle's avatar

I'm sure democrats have voted for Kamala Harris. If Elon Musk didn't have a hand in this Kamala would have won. Don't forget what Elon said "I would be in jail if doing this got trump electef" something to this effect

C Leonard's avatar

I understand what you’re getting at, but if we continue expecting shit, shit will indeed happen… Expect better, don’t settle. We can do anything, we can change that conclusion. We must all just be on the same page. We’re powerful creatures that change the tides when we all believe in each other. Manifest it, make it so.😉🫶🏻😘

Emma MacArthur-Warner's avatar

I think Democrats did vote for Kamala; she just didn’t get enough of the swing vote

Yarn Lady's avatar

Well, you think wrongly .. look at the states stats

Yarn Lady's avatar

The problem was the bad Dem turnout

Emma MacArthur-Warner's avatar

I see, maybe you’re right. But I doubt that’s because Kamala’s a woman. I think it’s because they didn’t trust her to make the right decisions on some issues, and then for some reason they thought the best response to that was to sit out of the race entirely. Don’t get me wrong, I will never forgive Democratic voters who didn’t step up—but I doubt it was because of sexism

Kathi's avatar

Agree with every word.

Tif Keith's avatar

Kelly takes AIPAC money and for a lot of us that makes him as much of a non starter as Newsom

Yarn Lady's avatar

Yep, better to get the perfect candidate … there isn't one…. And lose big to JD…

Tif Keith's avatar

We have two years to find as close to perfect as we can. There’s absolutely no reason to Pooh-pooh excellent candidates right now, and time for almost good candidates to figure out what would make themselves actually electable

Kathi's avatar

All but about 9 in Congress are on the AIPAC payroll and vote accordingly.

MJ's avatar

Yup. Kelly won’t say one critical word about Israel.

Tif Keith's avatar

I didn’t til like last week!

David Blue's avatar

Really? These days anyone who thinks she is too radical is behind the times and is exactly what's wrong with the Democratic party. Look at Mamdani, because he is the new face of the party and hopefully the direction it is heading.

christine marie Mckinney's avatar

I wasn’t saying I think she is too “ radical” I’m saying I think the general perception of her is that she is out there. Just like Bernie Sanders.

David Blue's avatar

Okay, but I think the general perception is shifting towards her and others like her as the new norm in the party. And everyone needs to backs this thinking if we are to make any real change in this country. It's what is bringing new blood and energy to a party that has become stagnant and too much a part of the establishment.

Political Violins's avatar

Plus too many misogynistic Americans can’t bring themselves to vote for a woman.

Yarn Lady's avatar

Truth… calling voters gave me many headaches when they got riled up about it

Andrea Mayhew's avatar

Mark Kelly is AIPAC. No thanks

Barb Kamen's avatar

We have to stop thinking that way! The status Que doesn’t work so let’s get behind theses progressives! AOC would be great so would Pete and Mark!

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

Pete and Mark are AIPAC. Hard pass.

christine marie Mckinney's avatar

Pete doesn’t even hold public office so how can he get AIPAC $?

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

You think they are new kids on the block?

He accepted almost 200 K in the 2020 President primary, and in ‘22, basically lied about funding. Cuz he could. A CHARLATAN of the HIGHEST ORDER.

https://jacobin.com/2022/01/transportation-secretary-fundraising-pacs-win-the-era

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

Christine, AOC wouldn’t win because <gasp> she’s a woman😮 I agree with you that Secretary Buttigieg would be a great president, but, unfortunately, I don’t think he is electable because he’s gay. I like Senator Kelly, but then I’m biased because I would love to see a scientist and an astronaut in office. But I don’t think he has the national recognition and, as pointed out, he supports AIPAC. I think a good candidate would be Governor Pritzker. He has the recognition and the money to make him less bound to corporate thieves (hopefully). IMHO.

Elizabeth's avatar

Check out women candidates Nov. 2027

Missi's avatar

unless they both divest from AIPAC, they cannot lead the US… we are the United States of America, not the United States of Israel 🍸

Elizabeth's avatar

AOC doesn't take AIPAC money

Missi's avatar

I was referring to Pete B 🍸

Elizabeth's avatar

It's a long road to ‘28. People might see Pete as too gay. Kelly takes AIPAC money.

Elizabeth's avatar

Kelly takes AIPAC money

christine marie Mckinney's avatar

Can you give some references for your comments about Pete B.?

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

Pete is a charlatan. A Corporate stooge.

Typical Dem. The best candidate is the most ELECTABLE Candidate.

Numb du plumb's avatar

Sadly true. Soon tho I hope. She is for the people.

Yarn Lady's avatar

And too female… I got my ears filled two years ahobwhile calling voters.

Airsurfer's avatar

Pete’s support of Israel’s genocide makes him unelectable.

Kelly is too conservative for Americans and needs to stay an Arizona senator

Yarn Lady's avatar

Pete does not support the genocide… what a lie

Airsurfer's avatar

You obviously don’t know Pete. Maybe do a little research on the candidates you support next time.

Sanders for Sec’y of HHS

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

No! Bernie is a good man. A terrible politician.

Karebear's avatar

AOC and Ro are the real ones!! My favs.

Catherine Mommsen's avatar

Yes, I would vote for her and support her in a heartbeat. Democrats need to stop speculating who is more “electable” and concentrate on who is the best candidate.

Yarn Lady's avatar

The best thing to do it to stop trying to elect someone 2+ years before it happens

Mary's avatar

I’d vote for Pete and Gavin. It seems like the country is just not ready for a female president much as I would like to see it.

Paula B.'s avatar

Newsom is a corporate Dem who is only out for himself. He's been my governor long enough that it's obvious here in California. Please don't support him.

Gretchen Smurr's avatar

Another Californian here and I totally agree with you- he’s a smooth talking corporate Democrat who sends his kids to private schools while our public schools have K- 12 students working 2 to 4 grades below grade level and passed on each year with no accountability.

Mary's avatar

I appreciate your comment especially since I’m not in California!

Rhombus Ticks's avatar

Boyd Waters's avatar

As much as l would like to see her or Kamala elected, I'm not so sure we are ready to elect a woman. Yes, l know we are the ONLY country in the world that hasn't had a woman president. Although we have had women Governors elected recently. I'm all for women leaders.

Tif Keith's avatar

I think she has a much better chance, particularly if she sticks to her word and gets fired up about universal healthcare and taxing the rich. She’s brilliant, funny, and gorgeous

Yarn Lady's avatar

Yes she is... She is also broadly held in disdain. It would thrill Rs if she gets the nomination.

Grannietothree's avatar

Unfortunately we are still a sexist Country.

Airsurfer's avatar

Kamala lost because she protected corrupt cops as attorney general in California, supported Israel’s genocide of Palestinians and offered no solutions to the problems of working class Americans.

AOC fights for the working class, opposes Israel’s genocide, and isn’t beholden to the Epstein class. She is a slam dunk to win the presidency.

Americans are ready for AOC. She brings in people who usually don’t vote, young voters, and she drew huge crowds in her fighting oligarchy tour in conservative areas.

You don't think after all this evil from the sexual abuser that people are ready for a massive change? The US is effed up. I will never trust a man again after trump/epstein and the how to rape your wife website. Jeezus Chriiiist!! Wake up America. You need a woman in charge.

Sfjoe's avatar

I would like her to run for a senate seat first. Get rid of that fossil Schumer and let her be NY rep in the senate

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

Typical Dem. Clueless concerning the proper nominee.

Sfjoe's avatar

Does that make you a typical arrogant Republican?

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

But hey, Bots are stupid.

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

OMG not since Eisenhower. What an idiotic assumption.

Mary Kinney's avatar

No. Too far left. We need a more moderate candidate.

Tif Keith's avatar

The party has been moving ever right to try to capture the elusive centrist vote and losing a LOT of people in the meantime. People WANT leftist policies. Look at Mamdani! Even maga loves him.

Airsurfer's avatar

Mamdani has done an amazing job in New York City.

He is a perfect example of how effective progressive politicians are.

Yarn Lady's avatar

Only if they get elected... Electability is everything.

Bobr's avatar

The US is not NYC.

Tif Keith's avatar

Astute observation. His policies have appeal throughout the US though.

Bobr's avatar

This is the only thing that’s relevant. Show us someone like AOC who has won à general election in à swing state or à swing district this century.

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

Not relevant! She is about the People. Carter and somewhat Obama are the only other candidates in the last 11 that were. They did fine.

Bobr's avatar

“About the People “ means different thinking Manhattan and rural Pennsylvania. Trumpkins also will tell you he is About Thé People. Carter was 50 + years ago, and Obama is routinely denounced by AOC supporters as warmonger, Zionist, traitor to the proletariat and so on.

🔥I. Can't. Breathe.🖤💛❤️✊🏽's avatar

You need candidates not beholden to Israel. She ISN'T. If the Ununited States is to survive, I'd recommend getting rid of every one who takes donations from the ishrael lobby.

From an outsider looking in.

Kathi's avatar

The moderates ARE the problem. They do not represent us. They represent PACs, AIPAC and filling their wallets.

AOC represents all Americans rights, needs, dignity, freedom, autonomy, healthcare, affordable housing etc.

AOC

Key Political Opinions and Platform:Economic Inequality: Advocates for "taxing the rich," significantly higher corporate taxes, a federal jobs guarantee, and raising the federal minimum wage.Green New Deal: Promotes a massive transition to renewable energy to fight climate change while creating millions of high-wage jobs.Healthcare: Supports "Medicare for All," aiming to create a single-payer, government-run healthcare system.Social Justice: Supports reparations, LGBTQ+ rights, police reform, and combating structural racism and misogyny.Immigration: Advocates for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and treating undocumented immigrants with dignity.Foreign Policy: Promotes non-interventionism, reducing the military budget, and centering human rights, often opposing "forever wars" and military aid.Education: Advocates for tuition-free public colleges and trade schools.

Why the "Far-Left" Label PersistsThe debate over whether this platform is "unreasonable" depends entirely on the political baseline being used:The U.S. vs. Global Baseline: In the context of global politics, AOC and Mamdani are center-left mainstream social democrats. However, within the traditional U.S. political spectrum—which historically favors deregulation and privatization—any call for government-mandated wealth redistribution or universal programs is categorized as extreme.Disruption of the Status Quo: Because their platform directly targets corporate power, military spending, and real estate monopolies, it poses a direct threat to powerful institutions. Consequently, opponents apply the "far-left" label as a rhetorical tool to frame their ideas as disruptive, dangerous, or un-American.

I think we’ve had enough capitalism. It’s destroying everything. Money IS the root of all evil.

Community and caring for each other is the thing this country needs more of.

Moderate democrats are all talk. Cooperating with Republicans and not leading. AOC is a fighter. We are at war against our own government. We needs leaders with courage. Mamdani and AOC are what is needed. Their voting records and open secrets tell you what their actions are. We’ve had enough talk. It’s time to get money out of elections, integrity, and courage.

TommyC's avatar

What she said, took the words right out of my mouth, Please no more republicans or corporate democrats. Clinton and Harris were the wrong women, AOC is the right woman. She will put up Obama type numbers as in LANDSLIDE!

RaggedTulip's avatar

No we don’t need moderation we need an agenda that works for the American people. And that doesn’t work with moderation as we have seen!

MJ's avatar

The only thing worse than Republicans are Moderates. They will maintain the status quo, and it ain’t working for most of us.

EMF1970's avatar

Joe Biden was a moderate and he failed to protect our institutions. He did bring us out of the pandemic and hes a good man but his attitude was everything takes time, he didn't have TIME. We should have done more to prosecute Law breakers like Trump.

Hudson E Baldwin lll's avatar

We should have nominated E Warren!

Airsurfer's avatar

People like you never learn.

What you call “moderates democrats”, most democrats constituents call “corporate democrats”. They betray the working class every time to please their wealthy donors and are too corrupt to lead the party.

History shows that they always lose the presidency. War hawk Hillary gave us Trump the first time and corporate Kamala gave Trump his second term.

Stop repeating the same mistakes and expecting a different result.

Amanirenas's avatar

Then just vote for an establishment democrat or a republican who is AIPAC sponsored, corporate funded, certified protector of the Epstein class. It’s your vote either way but don’t fucking whine when the foreign asset you voted for disappoints you.
