Corporate Media Is Pushing For War With Venezuela - How To Spot The Propaganda
Ditch Corporate Media & Invest Into Independent Media
This newsletter has been up for a little over a year now & sometimes I still do not fully understand what my “lane” is in this Substack space.
While confusion around that question still swirls for me, one thing I do know to be true, is I will always challenge power & fight on behalf of oppressed people.
To which, if I was going to sum up how you could tell the difference between “corporate” media & “independent” media, that would be my number 1 test.
Are headlines and stories directed towards challenging established power structures & the wealthy, or are they maintaining the status quo & further oppressing already vulnerable people.
Which brings me to the topic of this post
I was going through the news am hour ago when I came across this. It was a side-by-side snap shot, of 2 different corporate media organizations, with headlines that were obviously geared towards normalizing an invasion of Venezulea
On their face, they may seem innocent enough, but this is a classic tactic of those in media who are trying to manufacture consent.
First, you normalize an idea in an opinion piece.
It wouldn’t be so bad to overthrow Maduro, let’s talk about it. Let’s talk about how we would be helping the people of Venezuela.
Then, these same outlets will run follow up stories, talking about things that are going wrong in the country, as a way to get you to feel more comfortable with our upcoming attack.
So when it happens, you feel a sense of righteousness.
See, we’re the good guys, helping those poor people.
Meanwhile, it’s not mentioned anywhere that:
Do not want another war
That Trump’s claims of Venezuela trafficking fentanyl into our country has already been debunked by his own national intelligence department
That Trump has been killing boats of innocent people, without any due process. We legitimately do not know who was killed in these attacks
Trump already tried to coup this administration in his 1st term & has said multiple times that he wants their oil
U.S. soldiers have been seeking legal advice about directives they’ve been given. Many assuming that’s directly related to orders given regarding Venezuela.
Please do not fall for the traps being set by these large media organizations. Most of these outlets you’ve seen for years are strongly tied to large corporations, who will profit greatly from another war.
It’s a main reason why so many billionaires want to own these media companies…because controlling information gives them power & they ability to manufacture consent.
If you’re looking for a way to spot this propaganda in the future, just apply this simple metric.
Does this headline challenge power, or does it enable it further?
It’s a metric I’ve been using for years now.
We’re going to keep this post nice and short, but I’ll be back soon with more news & stories you may have missed.
Speaking of Independent Media - a sincere thank you to everyone who shared our posts over the last week. I see we have some new subscribers in here & I’m thankful to add some people into our journey to challenge power.
For those who believe in investing into independent media, please sign up as a paid subscriber so I can continue to build out this newsletter.
I currently do not have a single outside entity funding this project, it is completely funded by the readers.
Until next time,
Desmond

The thing that I forgot to mention before I pressed send on this article, is the ties to the Epstein Files. Donald Trump is hemorrhaging support right now & he knows his grasp on power is slipping. I believe he wants this war also, for the cover it provides him from the negative headline firestorm that will be the release of those files.
Excellent post, Desmond. Thank you!
