I met Sam Forstag late last year, after a friend recommend that I should meet him. We met at a local coffee shop here in Missoula, Montana & he expressed that he was considering running for office.
We sat for about an hour and talked about what was happening in our country, & I told him I’d love to interview him if he decided to run.
Thankfully, we were finally able to connect & I hope y’all enjoy the conversation.
We have 2 Congressional districts here in Montana, and the western district is only an R+5 district. Very winnable for a Democratic candidate, especially in a wave election cycle.
In 2022, the district went to the Republican winner by just 3 points, a margin of victory by only 7,800 votes.
A wholeheartedly believe that our district is poised to flip this November, so I reached out to the 3 Democratic candidates running in the primary for MT-1.
This first conversation is held with Sam Forstag, who has been endorsed by Bernie Sanders & AOC. Later this week, I’ll also be releasing my conversations with the other 2 candidates, Ryan Busse & Russell Cleveland.
