Disney CAVES And Brings Jimmy Kimmel Back Starting Tomorrow
By: Desmond Price
Tuesday’s return of Jimmy Kimmel to late-night TV was the result of days of meetings and negotiations with top Disney executives that only came to a resolution Monday morning.
“There was always a desire to do the best thing for the company,” an insider told Deadline of the direct talks and “thoughtful conversations” between Disney CEO Bob Iger, Disney Entertainment chief Dana Walden and Kimmel and his team. To that, the final sign-off on Kimmel’s return to his long-running Jimmy Kimmel Live! was made this morning by Iger and Walden after a last-minute flurry of paperwork, texts and calls with Team Jimmy, I’m told.
Having started the day after Jimmy Kimmel Live! was “preempted indefinitely” over remarks the host made on-air about Donald Trump and MAGA’s reaction to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the conversations among the principals continued over the weekend until an agreement was reached today.

Public Pressure And Boycotts Work!
Well, there you have it, it looks like mega corporations can, in fact, be pressured into changing.
After a tsunami of cancellations of Disney +, Hulu, ESPN, Disney park trips, & celebrities saying they wouldn’t work with Disney, the multinational corporation caved to the pressure and now Kimmel is back on air.
Like we said previously, corporations only care about money. Hitting them in their profits is the only way to get them to hear you (something we need to remember in the future).
What’s not lost on me, is that we could’ve implemented this strategy many times over the last few years. When it comes to pressuring companies not to side with Trump, let’s remember how useful this tactic was, I’m sure it’ll be necessary again.
While a bulk of this story is focused on Kimmel, free speech, and Trump’s authoritarianism…I want to highlight just how powerful we are as a collective when we unify & focus on a common goal.
That is what I hope people take from this. That we are always stronger together & public power is still the strongest force in our country.
They know it too.
Which is why so much money is poured into propaganda in America.
Until next time,
Desmond

It’s a victory but I’m not convinced it’s enough… they simply returned to the status quo after they caused the problem.
If they want to win me back, I need more action taken on their part to further demonstrate the values they portend to impart on us in their movies. Maybe introduce a trans character and I’ll consider us back on good terms!
