Every single day I read reports about what’s happening in Gaza & every day my mind feels a little more fractured at the horror of reading these accounts. The Gaza Strip had a population of over 2 million in October of 2023, half of whom were under the age of 19.

Since then, an untold number of lives have been lost. Some say the number is 60,000, but many say that number does not accurately represent the true toll, which may be closer to 500,000.

The truth is, no one is able to independently verify the number, because the Israeli government will not let journalists into the Gaza Strip. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions as to why they may have that policy.

Daily life is a nightmare for the people of Gaza. Israeli officials forcibly starve the population by blockading the strip & not allowing any humanitarian aid to enter. Israeli troops kill dozens of Palestinians every day, usually while they’re doing absolutely nothing that would warrant lethal force. Israeli soldiers have even intentionally shot children. They’ve destroyed every hospital in the strip. They bomb refugee camps while they’re sleep. They’ve destroyed every trace of the infrastructure that once stood in the area.

All the while, you’ll be hard pressed to find a politician here in America that will even condemn these acts, let alone vote to withdraw ANY support from a nation carrying out a genocide. It’s been devastating watching this play out in front of us & feeling absolutely powerless to stop it.

Then the worse news of all came through the wire this week - when Israel officially announced they were planning to occupy Gaza indefinitely, only a week removed from saying they would annex the West Bank. Which ultimately means, the Palestinian people will no longer have any land to call their own, a truly permanent displacement.

All of these actions have broken countless international laws mind you, but apparently those don’t apply to Israel.

The question I keep asking myself is - how much more does the rest of the world need to see, before someone steps in in a meaningful way?

Well, it seems one country is ready to step up in a meaningful way, & I believe this could be a manage domino to fall in this chapter.

This is the news I saw earlier today ⬇️
