Former Member Of Congress Calls For The Complete Abolition Of ICE -- I Could Not Agree More
And she is running for Congress again.
During the last year, I have consistently spent time of these platforms calling for the abolition of ICE. They are a lawless entity, that consistently tramples all over the constitution, and faces absolutely no repercussions for their actions.
For the life of me, I CANNOT understand why anyone in good conscience would back this agency, or advocate for its continued existence.
In the last month alone, ICE has now escalated to executing people in the street, and the regime heads onto corporate news platforms, to find any way possible to shift the blame to the people that were shot.
As we have all watched this unfold, it has been enraging to watch the Democratic Party stand by, and barely lift a finger as ICE has invaded multiple cities in our country.
So many Democrats have come out to either defend ICE, or worse, publicly vote to “thank ICE” for what they’ve done in this country.
I say all of that to say this - we desperately need elected officials who understand how dangerous this organization is, and will work to not only defund it, but will actively work to dismantle it.
Which is why I was so thankful to see this long post from a former member of Congress today. She’s never shied away from taking the right stance (regardless of political pushback) & has always been fighting for oppressed people everywhere.
