More updates happened over the weekend with the Trump regime threatening Venezuela, as it seems we’re poised for an Iraq war 2.0 any day now.
Donald J. Trump posted on Truth Social:
“To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY.”
On the surface this is being sold as a crackdown on “drug dealers,” a necessary step to protect American security. But we know Donald Trump and we know this regime. They have never cared about protecting the American people. Just himself and the profit margins of his donors.
And if we don’t call it out now, before it becomes headlines of bombs and destruction, I’ll never forgive myself for not speaking out more.
Here’s what I’m watching.
What’s really happening (so far)
Trump’s announcement didn’t come with an authorization from Congress (surpriseing…I know), the body constitutionally empowered to decide on war. Instead, this is unilateral executive escalation.
There’s still no public evidence that the Venezuelan government’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking is real, at least none that meets any standard of transparency or accountability. Tusli Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence refused to produce evidence of any claim made by the Trump regime. This also follows reporting by Drop Site News that members of the national intelligence community directly contradicted claims made by the White House, and said there was no evidence that fentanyl can be traced back to Venezuela. Yet the U.S. is already declaring airspace closed and massing military assets nearby.
This isn’t theory, it’s reality. Airlines are rerouting flights, Venezuelan officials call this a “colonialist threat,” and international condemnation is already pouring in.
