How are kids going to learn to love learning? Questioning, researching, being amazed early on. I remember while researching one topic, I would often stumble upon something to make me delve deeper into an aspect of whatever I was learning about. Kids are a blank slate and need inspiration. Even more fun when they do the digging themselves for their own curiosity.

As veteran educator, I could not agree more. I was in an interview with someone about 15 years older than me who was praising AI and saying we should be using it now to sit by students. When everyone in the room agreed, I thought I didn’t want to work there anyway because of this mindless praise of AI - I launched into why they were wrong! Needless to say, I didn’t get the job but as I said, after they thought AI was “absolutely the best thing that could happen to education,” I didn’t want to work there, anymore.
We have a population in the US than exhibit an alarming lack of critical thinking. I can’t even imagine what the next generation will be like, if AI allowed to be used! What will human thought become? I shudder to think of it.

Important move. A child must first learn to think for themselves, to research, to explore and not have information handed to them.
