My heart breaks for this, especially for people who you grow up not wanting to upset them. It’s internalized quite a bit, I feel it with my family who’s conservative Catholic (single-issue), but it also makes me really thoroughly analyze an alternate perspective from someone I respect.
It’s still really taxing to fight the frustration and pick my battles, but especially since 2020 and Black Lives Matter I have felt like I’m just arguing politics all the time.
