Question for Tik Tok users & those that don't use Tik Tok - If you use Tik Tok, are you thinking about leaving the app now, following this news? If you don't use it, but know someone who does, will you advise them to leave the app?
Never been on Tik Tok.. never trusted it, saw shit coming I suppose. So it's an official surveillance machine now, HEADS UP! Sadly the people I know who use it are addicted (by design) I hope they seek recovery. I will encourage them to do so.

I've let everyone I think who might know someone who uses it know. They generally reply "Good thing I don't use it." When I ask them to spread the word anyhow, they reply along the lines of "too many kids use it and now way they'll give it up." So I reply "Fine! Should we just cede the space to Notsees, then?" NO one thinks they can make a difference. So I reminded them "if you convince just one person to drop it, and they convince one person etc etc." Gotta try!
I've used Tik Tok to record videos, but never use the app for consuming. I know a lot of people have created small businesses for themselves through that app, so I know this won't be an easy transition, but it's one I think we have to take.
I've never been on Tik Tok OR Twitter/X and, no Im not under a rock! However I do use Instagram and occasionally post my own personal original photos there. I scroll around there but don't involve myself in a social way. I use it for my camera roll so my distant family and friends can see my photos. Probably a good time to stop this practice and use a thumb drive. Sad ya know? Regulations are next to impossible to legislate it seems. Be safe all!
I appreciate that this goes beyond tribal talking points just to BASH Trump and spread an outrage narrative... It's informative and it makes a statement and backs it up with evidence. It's not meant just to dig into power structures and policy consequences. Liberal audiences get plenty of cheerleaders... what we lack is clear‑eyed accountability.
Because where I'm from in New York New Jersey area… imagine eating cheesecake some type of meeting that you brought with you and then you say this cheesecakes the best period you will have three people come up to you and say where did you get it and then they'll tell you where their best place is and then they'll tell you that they're going to try your place but it better be good almost like a veiled threat so you have to give a Yelp review and to wonder what would happen if they don't share your opinion all because you Proclaim your love for cheesecake

Conscious decision never opened a tik tok account. Will not advise others but will ask their thoughts.
Deleted twitter account (yes pre-X) just 2 weeks after Musk spent OPM Other People’s Money to buy it, never looked back.

You could try using a VPN service, Afterall, TikTok only has American leadership in the US.
