Trump Floats "Treason" Charges For News Outlets That Don't Cover The War Favorably - He Must Be Removed From Office
We're living in an authoritarian regime
The dictator and chief threatened news outlets around the country yesterday, with the possibility of “treason” for covering the war in a way that wasn’t pro-Trump.
In his incoherent ramblings on Truth Social, the maniac delivered a word salad (as usual), where he complained that news stations were publishing “fake” stories, and the outlets that generated them should be brought up on charges for treason.
I apologize that you had to read that, but unfortunately, this moron is the leader of our country, so we have to keep track of the hatred he spews.
You don’t need me to tell you just how dangerous speech like this is. We’ve crossed the rubicon a long time ago with this man, and every day living under his regime is incredibly stressful.
Being able to accurately and fairly report of the news is supposed to be one of the bedrocks of our democracy. Without that, we will sink into a North Korea style level of authoritarianism that could take decades to crawl out from, if at all.
Now will Trump actually charge news outlets with treason? Your guess is as good as mine, but what he might do instead, is compel these companies through the fear of losing their broadcasters licenses.
FCC Chair Brendan Carr took to X earlier, to echo Trump’s comments, which effectively is letting news outlets know - cover the news how we say, or we might take you off the air.
If you’re thinking - this is against the first amendment & a violation of free speech - you would not be alone. It was my first thought & the thought of Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, who took to X to call out Carr.
However, Carr responded by making the case that the federal government can decide what the “public interest” is, and use that to legally stifle any speech they don’t like.
Where do we go from here? It’s hard to say precisely, but I do know that it’s more important than ever to continue pushing back against the regime. Invest in news that dissents from fascism & support independent media where you can.

Trump asks 7 countries to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, Japan, Australia, & U.K. decline - President Donald Trump said Sunday that he has demanded about seven countries send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, but his appeals have brought no commitments as oil prices soar during the Iran war. “It would be nice to have other countries police that with us, and we’ll help. We’ll work with them,” Trump said. Previously, he has appealed to China, France, Japan, South Korea and Britain. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi earlier told CBS that Tehran has been “approached by a number of countries” seeking safe passage for their vessels, “and this is up to our military to decide.” He said a group of vessels from “different countries” had been allowed to pass, without providing details. Iran has said the strait is open to all except the United States and its allies. Reported by CNN
Israel has begun an invasion of Lebanon - Israeli attacks have killed 850 people in Lebanon since March 2, including at least 107 children and 66 women, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. Thirty-two healthcare workers are among the dead, and 2,105 people have been wounded. An Israeli strike on Sharhabil, near the southern city of Saida, killed one person and injured three children, the Health Ministry said. Local reporting identified the victim as Wissam Taha, with his children among the wounded. Hezbollah said it launched five rounds of rockets Sunday morning, including strikes on Balmakhim airbase south of Tel Aviv, an air-defense system in Ma’alot-Tarshiha in northern Israel, and the coastal town of Nahariya, according to a statement on the group’s Telegram channel. French President Emmanuel Macron said last week the Lebanese government is ready to engage in “direct talks” with Israel as he offered to host negotiations in Paris, warning “everything must be done to prevent Lebanon from descending into chaos”. Epstein’s account testifies to Congress in closed-door deposition - Richard Kahn, the longtime accountant of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, appeared for a closed-door deposition on Capitol Hill Wednesday. Democratic Congressmember James Walkinshaw, who sits on the House Oversight Committee, said, "Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring would not have been possible without Richard Kahn, who managed Epstein's money for years, authorized payments, including payments to victims and survivors." Kahn claimed that he was unaware of Epstein's sexual abuse and had not seen any of his victims. Meanwhile, lawmakers are seeking to interview Tova Noel, one of the prison guards on duty when Epstein was found dead in his jail cell — a death ruled a suicide by New York's chief medical examiner. According to the New York Post, FBI records suggest that Noel had twice run a Google search for the phrase "latest on Epstein in jail" in the hours before Epstein's body was discovered. Chase Bank also flagged cash deposits in Noel's bank account in a "suspicious activity report" to the FBI in November 2019, with a $5,000 cash deposit 10 days before Epstein's death. U.S. intelligence says Iran government is not at risk of collapse - U.S. intelligence assessments indicate Iran’s governing system remains intact and faces no immediate risk of collapse despite nearly two weeks of U.S. and Israeli strikes, according to three sources familiar with the findings. A “multitude” of intelligence reports provide “consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger” of collapse and “retains control of the Iranian public,” one source told Reuters. The assessments follow the February 28 killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the appointment of his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, as Iran’s new supreme leader. Israeli officials have also acknowledged privately that there is no certainty the conflict will bring down the clerical government, a senior Israeli official told Reuters. Reported by Reuters
Senate Republicans worry they’re losing ground in the midterms - Some GOP senators are now openly predicting a tough battle to hold onto control as their party struggles to keep the focus on affordability policies that lawmakers want to make the centerpiece of their midterm campaign. “I’m glad I’m not on the ballot,” Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), a close Trump ally, said in an interview when asked how he was feeling about the November elections. Republican senators are warning that the party writ large needs to hammer home cost-of-living measures — despite apparent disinterest and distractions from Trump. Democrats have to net four seats to win back control of the Senate — a tall order that still gives Republicans an inherent edge. But Republicans are playing defense in Maine and North Carolina, the two races widely viewed as the most likely flips, and they’re facing a messy Trump-fueled primary in Texas. Republicans view Michigan and Georgia as potential pick-ups, though Democrats think they’ve also been able to put states like Ohio and Alaska in play through strong candidate recruitment. If you're worried about this country - trust me, you're not alone. I don't think there's any ONE thing we can do to fix the damage being done, but we press on. Giving in, will only embolden the regime. Push back. Speak out. Support people/organizations who are providing services where you can.
I encourage everyone to watch the PBS documentary Jailed for there Words about the Montana Sedition Act of 1918, which was a significant extension of the federal Espionage Act and was repealed in 1921. This is the world Trump and the Fascist Billionaires want: fear, coercion, subjugation.
