Trump Is Now Arresting Journalists For Covering The News - Do We Even Have A Constitution Anymore?
I'm legitimately unsure anymore
Attorney General Pam Bondi sent federal agents to arrest Don Lemon, Trahern Jeen Crews, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lydell Lundy earlier today.
It was said to be in connection to a “coordinated attack” on a church in St. Paul, Minnesota. However, all the video evidence from the event showed these 4 journalists, not engaged with the protest itself (also a protected right under the 1st amendment), but just interviewing protesters outside.
That’s the “crime” in question here.
Journalists were arrested today for covering a protest. For talking to people who were protesting.
I’m beyond angry. Beyond shaken. I’m legitimately afraid of what’s going to come next.
I spent time earlier today wondering how long it would take before federal agents start showing up at anyone’s door who has been critical of the regime?
Laws don’t seem to matter to these people, they just arrested someone who covering a protest.
If you still had ANY DOUBT in your mind about whether or not we’re living in an authoritarian state, let this news erase those doubts for you completely.
Don Lemon, the most famous of the 4 arrested journalists, spoke earlier today after being released from jail:
Former CNN host Don Lemon, released a day after federal officers arrested him in Los Angeles, defended his career in journalism on Friday, saying he will never stop reporting.
U.S. District Judge Patricia Donahue ordered Lemon to be released on no money bond, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lemon was accused of disturbing worshippers in a Minnesota church by disrupting their First Amendment right to practice their faith.
Outside a downtown Los Angeles courthouse, Lemon thanked people supporting him and defended his work.
“I will not stop now. I will not stop ever,” Lemon said. “In fact, there is no more important time but right now, this very moment, for a free and independent media that shines a light on truth and holds those in power accountable.”
Lemon said the Department of Justice (DOJ) sent federal officers to arrest him “for something I’ve been doing for the last 30 years, and that is covering the news.”
“The First Amendment of the Constitution protects that work for me and for countless other journalists who do what I do,” he continued. “I stand with all of them and I will not be silenced. I look forward to my day in court.”

Even though I constantly spend time in the news cycle everyday, and it feels like this nightmare wheel of events never seem to stop, there are still stories that shake me up.
The regime doesn’t really do isolated events. They’ve been way more calculated than their 1st term in office & I have no doubt this won’t be the last time journalists are arrested for exercising their first amendment rights.
I saw Georgia Fort, another journalist arrested today, ask a very simple question after her release:
“Do we even have a constitution anymore?”
That’s the question I’m left wondering today myself…
Meanwhile, I’m wondering if we have anywhere to go to seek help?
They ignore court orders
Flagrantly disregard the constitution
The Democrats are putting up less of a fight than they did in 2017-2019 - the last time the GOP had the trifecta
The media is being bought up by his acolytes
Where are we supposed to turn?
The only answer it seems, is with each other. No one is coming to save us, so we will have to save us.
I’m legitimately terrified about the news today. I don’t have a company behind me. I don’t have wealthy sponsors or a wealthy family that supports me. I don’t belong to any of the influencer networks. If the regime came after me for any reason, I wouldn’t be able to fight back…
And yet, I refuse to stop.
I refuse to allow this fear to keep me from bringing you the news.
We have to band together & continue to shout the truth about what’s going on in this country.
That’s the only way through this.
One way out.
Until next time,
Desmond

Also, I wanted to mention that I did see the news earlier regarding the additional drop of Epstein files & the report of Trump possibly bombing Iran this weekend. I'll have posts about them over the weekend. Honestly too many things to cover right now, but I will definitely do my best
Powerful piece about press freedm under pressure. The point that journalists covering a public event suddenly face arrest charges really underscores how fragile these protections can become in practice. I've seen similar erosion patterns in media enviroments abroad, where a gradual tightening on reporting sets the stage for bigger restrictions later.
