Democrats can't simultaneously say they have "no power', then also not use the power they do have. They may not be able to stop MAGA redistricting red states, but they can fight back in Virginia. The party that holds governorships, state legislatures, and redistricting commissions in several states is not lacking power. It is lacking nerve. That is the correct diagnosis and the harder fix.

Just a thought: decreasing the age limit for judges and then selecting his own justices is how Viktor Orbán re-made the judiciary in Hungary. Don't see that as a reason not to do it - use it because it works.

The age limit also keeps justices from being on the court for decades…. Does away with the need for term limits.
The VA Supreme Court--which is what this is about--has a 12 year term.
