New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has been consistent on his feelings regarding ICE - he does not want them in New York, he does not believe the agency should exist.

This follows another shooting in NYC by an officer just last week. The Mayor took to the streets following the shooting, to once again demand that ICE leave New York.

“But what we have seen today, and we know that what we have seen today is but a microcosm of what ICE does on a daily basis across this country.

How can that be how we describe public safety?

It can’t be. And I’ve shared that with the president.

We shared that with the Secretary.

This city wants ICE out.

We want ICE out of our city, ICE out of our schools, ICE out of our hospitals, ICE out of our streets, ICE away from our kids.

We want that because we want to keep the city safe.

We do not need them to do so.

All they do is terrorize the city.” - Zohran Mamdani

The Mayor then posted this to social media

At a time where so many Democrats are voting to “thank ICE”, or presenting weak solutions like “just take off your masks”, or voting for more ICE funding…Mamdani takes the right approach.

Calling for their abolition.

We’ve talked about this MANY times over the last couple years, so you already know my stance - we should abolish ICE.

An organization like this cannot be reformed & the country was able to enforce immigration laws, long before ICE came onto the scene in 2003.

I applaud Zohran & I wish more Democrats had the spine to call for ICE to be abolished.

We watched this organization gun us down in the street, violate our constitutional rights, detain people with probable cause, hold people indefinitely in detention camps, sexually assault & torture migrants in these detention camps….

Our society shouldn’t include ICE & their barbarism.

We already know that MAGA is deranged, but I feel a deep sense of shame for all Democrats who continue to justify their existence.

We should be better than that.

Abolish ICE.

Additional stories I wanted to share:

  1. Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Jeff Merkley introduce the Ban Flock Act.

Fact-check: Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 'fighting oligarchy tour' – PolitiFact

    - This bill would effectively put an end to AI surveillance cameras that track Americans. The Ban Flock Act would prohibit federal agencies from using automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) and block federal funding from state and local governments that use this technology, making it untenable for these AI surveillance cameras to continue proliferating across the country.

  2. Senate Republicans’ top super PAC is pausing its ad campaign in North Carolina and shifting seven figures into Kansas - The Democrats’ Senate Majority PAC is reserving $5 million in Kansas Senate race ads through Election Day. After spending more than $30 million in North Carolina’s Senate race, the super PAC is putting further spending there on hold. A Trump-aligned group also has no further spending on the books past this week either, according to Ad Impact.

“SLF’s job is to maintain the majority and this move reflects the most effective and efficient use of resources to do exactly that,” said a person familiar with the plans. The group also recently boosted its spending in Senate races in Ohio and Iowa. Reported by Semafor

  3. Nicolas Cage says he’s “probably not” working with Amazon again after refusing to sign AI waiver for “Spider-Noir”: ‘I am not an AI-friendly actor’

Spider-Noir' Trailer Reinvents Spider-Man With Nicolas Cage's Dramatic Flair

“Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI,” Cage said Saturday during a panel on the Empire Stage at New York Comic Con. “I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I’m not a member of their club. I didn’t sign the waiver to let him use AI on ‘Spider Noir.’ I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay.”

  1. Doctors in Gaza are performing full mastectomies on breast cancer patients even when tumors are small, because Israel prevents radiation therapy from entering the Strip - Breast-conserving surgery requires follow-up radiation, which is unavailable in Gaza, due to Israeli restrictions.

The report, aired during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, found severe shortages of cancer drugs and disrupted early detection services. Gaza's main cancer hospital has been destroyed, and about 11,000 cancer patients remain stranded, as Israeli restrictions block most from leaving for treatment abroad. Reported by Drop Site News

  2. Trump strikes deal with Putin to supply Russian diesel to U.S. & global markets

Kremlin says a Putin-Trump meeting on Ukraine is essential but needs advance preparation and must yield results | Reuters

President Donald Trump announced Friday that Russia had agreed to supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the U.S. and global markets following a discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump described the conversation as “highly successful” and said Russia would provide an additional 3 million tons of diesel within a short period, depending on the operational condition of its refineries.

Under the arrangement outlined by Trump, Russia would deliver another 500,000 tons of diesel in November, followed by 1 million tons in a subsequent shipment. The president did not specify when the full 3 million tons would reach the market. Reported by Ground News
