Democratic Congressman John Larson, from Connecticut’s 1st district, has officially filed articles of impeachment for Donald Trump, accusing the President of war crimes and piracy.
“Through his serial usurpation of the congressional war power and commission of murder, war crimes and piracy, Donald J. Trump has acted contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of law, liberty and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States,” - Congressman Larson
Connecticut Insider reported more in-depth on this yesterday:
“Donald Trump has blown past every requirement to be removed from office. And it’s getting worse. His illegal war in Iran is not only driving up prices for American families — it has cost American lives,” Larson said in a statement Tuesday.
“He’s becoming more unstable by the day. His profane and sacrilegious Easter Sunday and subsequent threats, including ‘a whole civilization will die’ and ‘open the Strait … or you’ll be living in hell’ not only foreshadow war crimes, but put our security at risk.”
Larson, in a separate news release on Tuesday, called on Congress to end the “illegal” war in Iran.
“These threats are reprehensible and beyond the pale,” he said. “Congress cannot let any leader assert that he is above the Constitution. Article I makes it clear that he must come before Congress to authorize acts of war. Threatening to obliterate a country is clearly an act of war! We must take action urgently in response to these threats.”
U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., on Monday called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment, which sets out a process by which a president can be removed from office. Larson also called for the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.
The next obvious question is - is it even worth it to impeach Trump again, after the first 2 attempts failed to convict him in the Senate?
In my last post, we discussed the recent articles of impeachment that have been filed against Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. In that post, I go into detail about why I believe it’s important to proceed with impeachment.
You can read more about that here:
Donald Trump is not only receiving these calls from the outraged public, or from Democratic lawmakers, but now even from his MAGA base.
Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Marjorie Taylor Greene, & even Alex Jones have all taken to social media this week, asking for the Cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment & remove Trump from office.
With his base eroding in front of his eyes, I’m finally starting to believe that Trump’s armor is beginning to crack.
I hope it falls to pieces in front of our eyes. The country & the world would be better off for it.
Let’s talk about the ceasefire
Yesterday, Donald Trump & the leaders of Iran, agreed to a 2 week ceasefire of the war. It came within an hour of the proposed deadline that Trump said would come last night.
In a post to social media, Trump bragged that the U.S. would commit several war crimes, if Iran did not open the Strait of Hormuz by last night.
According to several reports, it looks like Pakistan & China stepped in to mediate talks between Trump & Iran, resulting in the ceasefire.
Now, I’ll get to my feelings on all this at the end, so let’s just start with the facts first…
Trump put out a post on social media, not only celebrating the ceasefire, but also confirming that he was willing to negotiate with Iran on their “10 point plan”.
Not his own plan, but Iran’s plan.
Let’s go over this 10 point plan, so you know what Iran is asking for, & what Trump said he’s willing to negotiate on:
Permanent End to Hostilities: A lasting peace agreement rather than a temporary ceasefire.
Security Guarantees: Assurances that Iran will not be attacked again.
Lifting Sanctions: Complete removal of all US sanctions imposed on Iran.
Strait of Hormuz Reopening: Iran would reopen the vital energy route but charge a $2 million fee per vessel, to be split with Oman.
Regional Security: End to Israeli strikes in Lebanon and other regional attacks.
Reconstruction Funding: Revenue from the Strait to be used for rebuilding infrastructure rather than direct reparations
Withdrawing all U.S. combat forces from the region
The “necessity to end the war” against all Resistance axis factions – fronts listed in the document include Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine (occupied territories) – described as the “historic defeat of the child-killing Israeli regime’s aggression” - These quotes come from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council
Accepting Iranian uranium enrichment
The Council states that if the “enemy’s battlefield submission” is not translated into a “decisive political achievement” in negotiations, Iran will resume fighting “until all demands of the Iranian nation are met” — adding: “our hands are on the trigger, and the moment the slightest error is made by the enemy, it will be answered with full force.“
Okay, so let me give you my 2 cents about what I think will happen next…
For starters, Benjamin Netanyahu has already said Israel will not stop attacking Lebanon & that that was a non-starter for him.
Also, while I could imagine some troops leaving the Middle East, I can’t imagine any scenario where ALL American troops would leave the Middle East.
After multiple President’s have publicly stated how “dangerous” it is for Iran to enrich uranium, I cannot imagine that Trump will agree to that now.
Unfortunately, I believe this war will continue before the month is over.
I think Iran & Trump are both buying time for different reasons, & this war will probably resume in the not too distant future.
Trump will never agree to all of these demands (Israel certainly will not), and Iran has made it clear that they will accept nothing less, than ALL of their demands being met.
So while a lot of people took a huge sigh of relief last night, I fear it’s only temporary.
I really hope I’m wrong, but it feels likely that this war isn’t over.
Time will tell.

Fingers crossed that I am wrong, and that this ceasefire does in fact last. I would love nothing more than for this to be the actual end to the Epstein war in Iran.
homas Edison famously stated that he did not fail 1,000 times while inventing the light bulb; rather, he succeeded in proving 1,000 ways that would not work.
Not trying again and again to get rid of trump only guarantees that he continues to get away with everything he wants. Don’t give up!
