Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer continues to face massive backlash from people across the Democratic Party. This is stemming from Schumer deciding to support the Trump CR budget bill, instead of opposing it, like almost every other Democrat in Congress did.

When Trump’s budget came through the House of Representatives, every single Democrat (except one), voted against the bill.

When the bill arrived in the Senate, Schumer said publicly that he would support the bill, even though 80% of the Democrats in the Senate also opposed the legislation.

Since then, the backlash has been intense, even causing Senator Schumer to cancel his book tour, citing “safety concerns”.

In my opinion, it was less about “safety concerns” and more about how he didn’t want to answer to people around the country who were furious with his decision.

Now members of his own party in Congress have spoken out against him, calling into question his continued role in Democratic leadership.

Alongside Representative Ro Khanna, a fellow Democrat in the Senate also casted doubt on Schumer continuing to lead in the Senate. Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colorado), was asked about Schumer in a recent town hall & responded by saying this ⬇️

I’ve said time and time again, I believe the Democratic Party is currently ineffective & no where near resembles what a true opposition party should represent. Chuck Schumer going along with Trump and the Republicans is another example of how this party needs to be completely rebuilt…that starts with leadership.

It’s not just random people on the internet disagreeing with him, he’s receiving heat from typically friendly journalists as well. He’s also catching heat from typically friendly social media influencers & “vote blue no matter who” party operatives.

250 Democrats in the House & Senate voted against that budget bill, including the Democratic leader in the House.

The writing is on the wall…people want change.

Unfortunately for all of us, Schumer heard our disdain, and responded with a middle finger.

Maybe now it’s time to primary him?

In fact, I think it’s time to primary MANY democrats. Let’s tear down this party and build something better.

Now is the time.

Let’s not waste this moment.
