I have to be honest with all of you…sometimes I legitimately run out of ways to express just how unbelievably exhausted I am, considering the impacts of the decisions made by the Trump administration.
It hasn’t even been 3 months yet.
Today’s story is brought to you by a power hungry despot, who has convinced tens of millions of Americans that he’s trying to improve their lives, but in reality he is:
Robbing them blind
Stripping away their rights
Lying to their face
Destroying their future
And now…poisoning them
Unfortunately, for the rest of us who are not inside of his cult, we have to deal with all of these repercussions too.
Yeah Democracy!
Or, more appropriately, Yay Oligarchy!
The Trump administration has moved to reverse state and local government bans on PFAS, the toxic "forever chemicals" that are used in everything from nonstick pans to firefighting foam to food packaging.
They accumulate in the human body and the environment and have been found in the blood of almost every person in the world.
A change by President Trump's Environmental Protection Agency to how it carries out chemical risk evaluations could largely annul laws like California's Proposition 65 — the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act.
Which requires businesses to warn people about the risks of chemicals that may cause birth defects, cancer or other illnesses.

Does anyone else remember when Trump saying he wants “clean water & clean air”?
So much for that I guess…
How do PFAS contaminate water?
PFAS can enter water supplies through various sources, including industrial discharge, waste from landfills, and the burning of PFAS-containing products.
The Environmental Working Group and Northeastern University data shows that water systems in all 50 states have been contaminated with PFAS from more than 5,000 polluted sites.
Even after treatment, wastewater can contain high levels of PFAS, which can then contaminate drinking water supplies.
Health Concerns Associated with PFAS Exposure
Exposure to PFAS has been linked to a range of health problems, including certain cancers, liver damage, thyroid disease, and developmental delays in children.
The US Environmental Protection Agency states that high concentrations of some PFAS may lead to adverse health risks in people.
The EPA also states that exposure to PFAS has been linked to deadly cancers, impacts to the liver and heart, and immune and developmental damage to infants and children.
Who benefits from this?
Large corporations.
If you’re asking yourself why Trump is making a decision — the answer will always be to inflate his ego, or to make money; for himself or his billionaire friends.
Let’s look back up at the quote from Democracy Now! California’s new law just requires businesses to WARN PEOPLE of the risks, not to remove the chemicals, but just to warn people.
Even that, was a bridge too far for these people.
These chemicals do not belong in our water, in fact, I don’t think they belong in existence.
If I was running for President, I would ban forever chemicals from the United States completely. It’s time we stood up these corporations & not allow them to continue to dump toxic chemicals into our water, into our food & into the air.
Nothing about that should be controversial, it should be common sense.
Do you think we should ban forever chemicals in America? Please comment below
In closing, I wanted to share that if you’re feeling angry & upset about this story, you’re not alone. Here’s some of the comments I came across when I first found this story. Please enjoy.

This was not a fun story to cover, but I believe it’s important that we’re all aware of the decisions being made that impact our lives. Please share this information with other people. Let’s not let this story get lost in the cracks
Until next time,
Desmond

Thank you for covering this story and FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT to have clean water!!!! These chemicals get transported all over the globe!
As someone who grew up in Parkersburg, WV - home of DuPont’s plant that manufactured Teflon - this one makes me extremely angry. (Google the movie “Dark Waters” if ya’ll don’t know what I’m talking about)
